My path to becoming an artist began while embedded inside of a combat zone. After deploying to the Middle East for the Army, and subsequently returning to non-military life, I discovered the potential of art to both reconcile and share my experience. My work confronts military service and re-entry into civilian life—examining the physical and mental impact that I and other infantry personnel must combat and overcome.

Driftwood: a turbulent lifespan, devoured by the Ocean, tumbling its way to the shoreline ~ this piece found along the Oregon coastline in Pacific City, transformed into Pate de Verre, capturing emotion and color from the surrounding area.

Low_Fire_TexturaL : bits of glass, universal shards blending and bonding together, establishing stackable, sculptural forms. I plan to use these new discoveries into my upcoming works. This “PatrioT ~ BowL” is a mash-up-batch, to simply have fun, learn simple forming, shaping, and tamping techniques… all while performed inside open faced ceramic molds.
