~ This work is combining 4 different sizes of manufactured glass shards. I recently discovered mixing glass in this way, has the ability to build better structure, for sculptural purposes… to pack glass differently than thin shallow common methods, seen in hollow formed vessels. Thicker, heavier glass batches (mixed glass) move differently when moving and pushing around the mold body.
~ Low fire work has the possibilities of sculpting in unique ways, seen here.... an opportunity to test those theories, by using a common ceramic mold… learning the hand skills and becoming more comfortable before moving into difficult master-mold scenarios; the next stage in building larger scale Pate de Verre works.
